Over the years, I realised that I understand the user needs a bit more than my colleagues - that's why I don't hesitate to talk into the process of a product being built a lot. Since I want it to be perfect then, I had to learn building dynamic user interfaces and use frontend development tools and frameworks. Being a backend developer for quite some time enabled me to see possible problems and performance issues before they really happen.
