The document discusses a sample tracking software called SampleGISTICS that provides real-time tracking of samples from collection through analysis. It allows users to track the location and status of samples, view chain of custody records, and generate customizable reports. The system provides increased visibility and control over sample shipping, storage, and analysis. It can integrate with other databases and electronic data capture systems to provide a single source of sample information.

Database
Sites are often shipping to multiple labs and locations, and there is no sample
visibility at site. It is also difficult to integrate multiple data sources and LIMS into a
single source for sample information.
Digital pen technology and data integration tools allows instant access to
sample information and comprehensive real time sample tracking.

28. 14 Benefits of Digital Pen
Sample Tracking
10. Anything captured with paper forms can now be captured
digitally (sample tracking, eCRF, patient reported outcome
surveys)
11. THREE levels of information captured
Source document (hard-copy paper form)
pdf version of hand-written form
Digital interpretation of handwriting (can be verified before incorporation
into databases)
12. Increased efficiency for multiple groups
Decrease time in finding samples and data
Decrease time in making decision on study progress/direction
Decrease time in converting handwritten information into digital
information (eCRF)
13. Ease of use (does not ask users to change behaviors)
14. Fits into processes that are not easily digitized

Editor's Notes
#3: Have you found yourself asking these questions when managing your studies? How quickly were you able to obtain that information? We are finding that with todays complex clinical trials, there is an unmet need in Central Laboratory Services to provide a more detailed information regarding samples. Especially those samples not going directly to the Central Laboratory.
#5: Access your personal sampleGISTICS dashboard via our website.
#6: If you have multiple protocols you can select your study to view after login
#7: Dashboard of your study (customizable). Table is cumulative tally of all samples (x axis) and their current status (y axis) within 24 hours.
#8: Larger view of dashboard summary table. 90% of all questions or reports can be obtained from this table. Three sections in color correspond to a graphical depiction. Yellow area - Expected is visits that have occurred. Collected are samples collected and not collected. Missing information are samples that have a query or incomplete information to classify as collected or not collected. Unknown location is a truly missing sample. Blue area out of what is collected how many samples are at the site and how many are at the lab. The pink area is out of those at the lab, how many are analyzed vs. not analyzed.
#10: Important that you can click on the numbers to get the listing of samples and all the associated information regarding that sample. All exports to excel.
#12: There is a contact section for customizable list of contacts as well as a documents section for important documents. You can also have the message board updated as needed with important notes regarding the study (i.e. data lock dates.or important changes). Helpdesk ticket for custom reports or IT assistance. You can filter the summary table for the last 7 days, 14 days, or 30 days.
#13: Complete listing of all samples and associated information in excel format with excel features and counts. Export entire listing or filter and export what you filtered for.
#14: This is the history of one sample from the moment of collection to shipment to receipt.
#15: Once you open a subject you get a list of all of their visits. Open the visit and you get the listing of samples. You can click on the sample to get detailed sample information next slide.
#19: Advanced search, you can type what you are looking for.
#20: Good for study and kit budgeting as well as analysis planning. Forecast subjects expected to have visits in the next week, two weeks, month, 2 monthsetccolor coded for quick viewing. You can customize the data in the table mapping to appear. Example: I want to analyze three subjects who have completed C1D11 at the 5 mg dose. When can I do that? You can use this table to identify this information (Project analysis).
#21: Table of subjects and visits expected. Red flag means visit did not occur in window or lab did not receive samples. Alerts go via e-mail and cumulative report can be generated of all alerts in reports menu (Missing visits report). Color coded for easy viewing. F is forecasted date. R is Real date or actual date of visit.
#22: Click on the real date and get a listing of samples and their location and status (A = analysed, R = Received etc.).
#23: One way to fill the gap from collection to receipt at lab for samples not being shipped to Central Lab within 24 hours and/or are being shipped to another location (specialty lab) due to stability or processing reasons.
#25: How the data is transmitted and reviewed prior to import into the database. Instant virtual accessioning! Fast query resolution.
#26: I will have a pen and demo forms, if we have internet, clients can fill out the forms and I can show them the pdf of their form on my phone once they doc the pen and it is transmitted.
