I worked for three years as a Medical Clinical Officer at St. Kizito Hospital Matany, Karamoja, in Semi-Arid, Pastoralist North-Eastern Uganda, from 1995-1998. Besides doing clinical work at the hospital, I was also assigned the task of being a Primary Health Care (PHC) Supervisor for the then Bokora Health Zone (i.e. the current Napak District but also including Lorengedwat - part of Nakapiripirit District). Here I gained not only clinical experience, but also Public Health / Community Health experience, including working with public/local government systems and politics under the Public-Private Partnerships for Health (PPPH).
