Rhetoric is the art of persuasion. Visual
rhetoric is the art of persuading through
images and graphics.
We have an easier time comprehending
visual information than we do verbal
information.
Verbal (word) information requires the
brain to do sequential processing…
B-U-N-N-Y
…while visual information allows the brain
to do simultaneous processing
on average, we see
5000visual messages/day
We learn through habit and exposure…
…so not everything we see counts as visual rhetoric.
