Cumbres is a private bilingual school located in Envigado, Colombia that was founded in 1994 by the religious congregation "Los Legionarios De Cristo". The blog described in the document is intended for a third grade class of 20 students ages 8-9 who take 16 English lessons per week. INSTITUTION DESCRIPTION ? Cumbres is a bilingual and private school. It is located in the town of Envigado (Cra. 27 B No. 27 Dsur - 86 Int. 102). In the early 90's the religious congregation ¡°Los Legionarios De Cristo¡±, founded in 1941 in Mexico, came to Medellin with the purpose of founding an educational institution. Therefore, in 1994 the congregation founded the school ¡°Corporaci¨®nColegioCumbres¡±.
POPULATION ADDRESSED ? The blog is addressed for third grade students, ages between eight and nine years old. There are twenty students in the classroom.
ENVIRONMENT AND DEVELOPMENT ? Students are advanced learners. Schoolchildren take sixteen English lessons per week. The blog is a pedagogic strategy to use the target language for a communicative propose.
TOPICS TO BE ADDRESSED ? Students are able to use the target language in a communicative way, describing a volcano eruption.
