I am from Baltimore (although I was born and raised in Annapolis, MD). I'm a surgeon by trade. I'm rather well known for having helped found the College of Medicine of Maryland, the first public medical school in this country, which later became the University of Maryland School of Medicine, the founding institution in what is now the University System of Maryland.
I'm a bit older than most members on here, having been born in 1768 (rumors of my death in 1829 have been greatly exaggerated). I've always been one to keep up with the latest innovations, though.
