Randye Jones, media collections coordinator for the libraries at Grinnell College, earned her B.A. in music education from Bennett College, and her M.M. in Vocal Performance from Florida State University, with additional study in vocal literature at the University of Iowa. She has gained recognition for her research of and published writings on African-American vocalists and composers, in addition to being a performer and lecturer herself. Jones has been a presenter and panelist for events such as The Phenomenon of Singing International Symposium VIII, the Research, Education, and Activism and Performance National Conference on Spirituals, and the National Association of Negro Musicians.
