THIS IS GUS.
HES AN ADVENTURER.
HES GOING TO WALK AROUND THE EARTH.
His aim is to raise over 贈250,000 for Save the Children.
Three Years | Five Seconds Three years to walk Somewhere in the world, the earth a child dies every five seconds
HES GOING TO ACHIEVE THIS IN UNDER THREE YEARS, COVERING OVER 18,000 MILES ON FOOT. 1 2 3 Europe & South Asia & North Central Asia Australia America & Europe
HE WILL CREATE A NEW WORLD RECORD FOR THE FASTEST TRIP AROUND THE EARTH ON FOOT.
The route will begin in London, across Europe into the Ukraine, through Kazakhstan, into India and South East Asia, across Australia and the length of New Zealand, into and across the USA, and then up through Portugal, Spain and France before returning to London.
How? Hell be undertaking the trek unsupported, with minimal equipment, using both modern and ancient innovations: Ventile / natural fibre clothing with bespoke tailoring and traditional crafts Modern solar / satellite technology to keep connected Hammock / basic shelters, cooking on open fires Modern innovative pack design Camping wild from a hammock or under the stars.
While on the journey, hell engage with interested parties via a website in two ways Ambient Direct
Gus will be walking an average of 30 miles per day, meaning his opportunities for direct interaction with digital and communications channels will be limited. AMBIENT He will be a walking data point, constantly transmitting his location, and other key statistics. The information will be used in an appropriate way on his website and other digital channels.
Direct forms of interaction will involve Gus engaging directly with a platform. His opportunities to do this will be erratic, due to the various terrains and distances he will be covering. This means that every time he is able to engage with an online audience, it DIRECT will be to gain maximum resonance. He will also be available for interviews and other media opportunities, though these will need to be arranged around his walking schedule.
Gus is 27, and lives in Manchester.

PREPARATION Changed the shape of his feet through barefoot fell running. Acclimatized to temperature through wild swimming. Adjusted his metabolism through specialist diets and extended fasting. Readied mentally by punishing tests of survival, navigation and sleep deprivation.
