An English language improvement program report summarizes activities at Finote Selam CTE in Ethiopia. A new English language improvement center (ELIC) has been established with computers, books, and media. New English books were purchased for the library and center. Special English days are held where all sessions focus on England and English. Five new clubs run by staff and volunteers were started, including journalism, discussion, and ICT clubs. English clubs were also provided for primary schools to develop speaking and listening skills. Training was given to third year students and cluster schools on teaching English through songs and games. Demonstration English lessons were also provided to the prison school. English Clubs have been provided for grade 4/5/6
children in two primary schools, focusing on developing
their speaking and listening skills.
The secondary school has been supported with
implementing the British Council listening clubs.

Training has been provided for third year practicum
students on teaching English using songs and games.
Training has also been provided for the 13 cluster school
schools linked to the college on the same topic. During the
workshops we took teachers into the classrooms and
practically demonstrated with grade 1-4 children.
