James Elford volunteered as an education volunteer in Ethiopia. He taught English and provided teacher training workshops at Finote Selam Teachers' College in the Amhara Region, working with over 300 teachers from 13 schools. When he wasn't teaching, he visited local schools, supported a running club, and trained new volunteers. He documented his experiences in a blog about his adventures in Western Ethiopia.
