My aim is to create spaces and places where people can imagine better futures. I am a writer, editor, public speaker, researcher and consultant specialising in placemaking and sustainability. I'm interested in how to make the places we live in better and how communities can create better lives for themselves. My book, How to Save Our Town Centres, was recently published by Policy Press. I was the founding editor of New Start magazine in 1999 and was editorial director until October 2010. I was editor of Inside Housing magazine from 1993 to 1998.
