I discovered a love of science later in life. I study the evolution of stars and the Galaxy. It's hard to explain the details, but some things are easily translated. We are all connected by the stars that gave their lives for us, throwing the heavy elements they've fused in their cores back out into the cosmos to be recycled into planets, atmospheres, trees, fuzzy bunnies, and you and me. We are connected biologically, chemically, and atomically. The universe is immense, rare events happen all the time, and we are more insignificant than you can possibly imagine.
