This document provides examples of contrast words used in sentences, including: although, though, in spite of, despite, even though. Some contrast words are used to show that something happened or was true despite an opposing fact or condition. For example, "Although it rained a lot, we enjoyed the picnic" or "In spite of the rain, they played the final." Other examples demonstrate how these words connect two contrasting ideas or facts in a sentence.
