I founded the Scripps College of Communication Certificate in Social Media Studies in 2013 and am its coordinator. Undergraduates are earning the certificate before entering diverse careers in the social media field. I teach several courses in the program, including Introduction to Social Media, Advanced Social Media, the Social Media Industries, and Media and the Digital Divide. One of the courses I introduced is Content Curation, which is, I believe, the first college class of its kind.
