Today
I woke up today to hear the birds chirping dittily,
To feel one with the leaves swaying in the cool morning breeze,
To see the flowers blooming in all their glory,
To sense this world鈥檚 multi-fold beauty.
I woke up today refreshed, rejuvenated,
To hope that many things come to pass that will be appreciated.
I woke up today grateful for yet another day.
Today I will be a better person 鈥� I pray.
Tonight
The day is past.
The dye is cast.
I made many mistakes.
A time or two I was praised.
I said one thing and meant another.
I meant to do things but forgot to remember.
