I have worked in the field of bioinformatics since 1993 when I completed a Masters degree in Bioinformatics at the University of Manchester. Following this I went on to complete a PhD that focused on the evolution of genomes. I've sinced worked in various bioinformatics roles and increasingly find scientific outreach to be a core part of what I do.
As of January 2016, I have formally switched to a full-time science communication position and work at the amazing Institute of Cancer Research in London, where I will be helping them grow and develop their digital communications strategies.
Specialties: science communication, bioinformatics, genome analysis
