My husband and I moved to Phoenix when we were just 2, now we are almost 4! Chose to come to the "Valley of the sun" (the name does not lie) to strategically place ourselves in one of the most densely refugee populated regions in the west. There are over 10,000 refugees in Phoenix that have come from war-torn countries and have been given a second chance at life here in the states. We help them transition, learn the language, develop job skills, and little things like read their mail and show them what a microwave is (although it looks like a TV, sadly it is not). I have a blog that tracks our work, though sometimes it's not as updated as I'd like. www.refugeesinphoenix.blogspot.com
