Hinduism is divided into a caste system with four levels - Brahmins (priests), Kshatriyas (warriors), Vaishyas (merchants, farmers, artisans), and Shudras (workers, servants). One is born into their caste and it determines their occupation. Intermingling between castes is forbidden. Untouchables who break rules can be exiled, making them outcasts with the lowest status jobs. Brahmanism was the religion of the Brahmins and was based on the Vedas, believing in reincarnation until reaching unity with Brahman. Major Hindu gods are Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.
