Besides my job and my family, my passion is training in the art of close combat. There are many good instructors out there that teach their students well and prepare them for real life encounters; however there are just as many that don't. They give a false sense of confidence with techniques that are not usable. Ask about your instructors background and where they get their information from...I tend to gravitate towards warriors, those in and out of uniform that have been there, done that and lived to tell. No better training than real world experience.
