My motto: Believe in the dream, always believe in the dream. Believe as hard as you can, and trust that you are seen and heard.
Someone suggested I write something about myself. Okay! I started out as a musician and composer (jazz), and played in a band and on radio when I was just a kid. In those years, I was a competition water skiier and an avid sailor. I'm still avid about the sailing, mostly with old-fashioned rigs, like gaff and lug. I switched to languages -- and epic poetry and the Middle Ages -- about half way through college. Got a PhD in Romance languages, and have been teaching medieval literature and how to teach languages for a long time now, at NYU and more recently at Harv
