I began teaching as an Assistant Professor of English (Rhetoric, Writing and Professional Communication) at Tarleton State University, in Stephenville, TX in August 2015. Prior to that, I was Visiting Assistant Professor at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. I completed my PhD and successfully defended my dissertation "Chronic Illness Narratives in Facebook" in April 2014 and graduated in May 2014. My research interest include narrative medicine, rhetoric of health and medicine, communication in healthcare, the intersections of social media and healthcare communication as well as the rise in the lay-expert as a result of such exchange of information allows for.
