I wear many hats including husband, father, musician, artist, linguist, athlete, and educator, but my favorite hat is the one declaring that I am a mathematician. As an ice-breaker, I will often tell my students that I am an ESL student, since mathematics is my first language. Indeed, I am sometimes more of a mathematician posing as an educator than anything else, despite my innate ability to teach. I have always found that I have just as much fun helping others comprehend mathematics as I do in discovering concepts for myself.
