Born in Nicosia in 1992, Kyriacos Shionis discovered his love for the Saxophone from an early age. After earning a place to the Nicosia Music High School where studied saxophone with Y.Miralis, he continued further studies with Kyle Horch at Royal Holloway, University of London.
After graduating from Royal Holloway with a Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree, Kyriacos continuous as postgraduate student combining Performance and Ethnomusicology at RHUL. His focus draws upon the Shakuhachi Inspired repertoire for the Saxophone with relation to the Japanese Culture, Zen, Meditation and Mindfulness.
