Our family drove 5 hours to spend 3 days at the Sounds, where they built huts, skipped stones across the water, and went for a hike up a hill. However, the long car ride made the author feel sick and they thought they could have built their huts better if they had more time to add leaves for shelter from the rain that prevented them from sleeping in their huts.

The SWWE Regional Network were very pleased to welcome Aalok Sonawala, Head of PMO, National Programmes, Rider Levett Bucknall on 26 February, to BAWA for our first face to face event of 2025. Aalok is a member of APM’s Thames Valley Regional Network and also speaks to members of APM’s PMO Interest Network, which aims to facilitate collaboration and learning, offer unbiased advice and guidance.
Tonight, Aalok planned to discuss the importance of a PMO within project-based organisations, the different types of PMO and their key elements, PMO governance and centres of excellence.
PMO’s within an organisation can be centralised, hub and spoke with a central PMO with satellite PMOs globally, or embedded within projects. The appropriate structure will be determined by the specific business needs of the organisation. The PMO sits above PM delivery and the supply chain delivery teams.

- 2. ï‚— Our family drove to the Sounds. It took us 5 long hours. ï‚— We were lucky to have 3 days there. We spent the time making huts and skimming stones across the water. ï‚—We went for a tramp up the hill.

- 4. Thought about what we did wrong with first two huts but couldn’t sleep in it.
- 5. We could have built our hut bigger. It would have looked great if we had time to put leaves on it.
