The Knight-Mozilla Fellowship is a program that brings together developers, technologists, civic hackers, and data crunchers to spend 10 months working on open source code with partner newsrooms. The fellowship is supported by OpenNews, a partnership between the Mozilla Foundation and the Knight Foundation.
I will be working with the NPR Visuals team to develop open source tools that support the various types of storytelling and visualization needs serving NPR programs. Specific projects and areas in which I will focus will be determined after I join in February 2015.
