I have a B.Sc. in Electrical Eng., M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Computer Eng., and an MBA in Business Management. I’ve been a researcher in AI for over 25 years, with more than 250 papers published and 5 authored books. In 2011 one of my papers appeared within the 26 most cited Brazilian works in the world, according to the book "Technological innovations in Brazil: Performance, policies and potential" and in 2020 I was recognized by Plos Biology as 1% of the most influential researchers in the world. I founded and manage the Natural Computing and Machine Learning Laboratory (LCoN) at Mackenzie Presbyterian University. I’ve been an AI entrepreneur since 2006, startup mentor and Angel Investor.
