Noelle Murtagh been employed by Longford Community Resources Ltd to work with asylum seekers and refugees from July 2010 to July 2012. This project is co-financed by the European Commission under the European Refugee Fund and is supported by the office of the Minister for Integration and Pobal. Longford at present has 83 asylum seekers living in the direct provision centre (hostel) in Longford and a significant amount of refugees living within the community. The aim of this project is to provide asylum seekers with support, advice and information relating to their legal, health and social needs.
