Since early 2011, I work as chief physician in the laboratory of Oulu University Hospital, one of the biggest clinical laboratories in the Nordic countries. Our services include clinical chemistry, haematology, microbiology, and clinical genetics. The laboratory has about 250 staff and serves as a training place for physicians (residents in clinical chemistry) and clinical biochemists.
From Jan 1, 2013, the laboratory was made part of a new enterprise, NordLab, which serves the central hospitals of all northern Finland. I am Director of Medical Services for NordLab.
