Bran Castle is located in Bran, near Brasov, Romania. Also known as "The Castle of Dracula", it is a famous medieval fortress where Vlad Draculea, otherwise known as Vlad the Impaler or Dracula, may have stayed for a short time as a prisoner or lived for a period. The castle was constructed in 1212 and later became the home of Queen Marie of Romania from 1920 to 1957, attracting thousands of tourists each year who visit to see where the famed vampire Dracula was rumored to have lived.
