I excel in an environment that lets me explore technology and ideas to find the best way to implement my end goal. I enjoy working with other people who are also excited about technology and interesting problems. I am a proponent of open source software and many of my projects depend heavily on it. I believe we stand on the shoulders of giants in this industry.
I am currently interested in and studying Scala, Hadoop (distributed processing), parallel programming methods with C++ and Java (pthread,OpenMP, MPJ, Akka), data mining (Oracle SQL and Beehive) and different ways to achieve data visualization (javascript graphing libraries and Flex)
