I have worked in marine and continental water biology and toxicity most of my professional life. Working in many research and development projects I realized people often use a set of biological tests they happen to have at their's or their or friends’ lab, no matter what is their relevance for solving a problem. For me, choosing the right set of tests and keeping in mind their limitations is crucial to understanding and monitoring changes in the environment. A bit more information about my professional life: I studied biology at the University of Ljubljana and finished with PhD in the field of marine biology (seagrasses) and bioluminescence (phytoplankton).
