Maria Dark, born Maria Tsolomitis, was raised just outside the hustle and bustle of New York City in Long Island by Greek and Puerto Rican parents. Her interest in music began at the early age of 5, when she would memorize popular music and its singers. As entertainment, Maria's mom often quizzed her musical knowledge in front of guests. Her passion continued to develop as Maria studied and collected music as well as she learned to play the drums. At age 20, Maria attended the Audio Recording Technical Institute in Central Islip
