2. Have you ever
wanted to own
and play a drum,
but it was too
expensive? Well,
you don't need to
buy one. You can
just make one
here instead!
3. Get a cylindrical container (make sure that it is empty)
like an oatmeal container, popcorn tin, raisin jar, or an
aluminum can and take off the lid.
4. Criss-cross many strips of electrical tape or even masking
tape over the top of the container until it is completely
covered.
5. Measure Now cut construction paper so that it will fit around
the container. around the container snugly and then tape it
in place.
6. Decorate your drum if wished. Cut out various shapes from
other construction paper and glue them onto the side of your
drum. You may draw on them if you want to.
7. Try making drumsticks for a better sound. To make a pair of
drumsticks, crumple up a bunch of tissue paper on the end of a
pencil and then starting at the pencil, spiral some masking or
electrical tape to the top of the tissue ball. Repeat this method on
another pencil.
8. Try playing on the drum. Now it is time to have some fun with
your drum! You can beat it in time to your favorite music.
9. Also ask your parents if they have old pans, tins, etc so you can
use them as well like tom toms.
