After graduating from Carleton College with a BA in geology, I spent 18 years travelling, exploring, climbing, skiing, biking and otherwise adventuring in Asia and the world. I returned to school in 2006 to study economics, finance, energy and climate sustainability. For my Master's thesis, I designed a carbon dioxide pipeline for the state of Wyoming and calculated a reasonable tariff for using the line to ship CO2. The line connects natural and anthropogenic sources of CO2 with sites where it could be used and sequestered for enhanced oil recovery and, in theory, enhanced coalbed methane recovery. Land development and planning issues also rank high on my list of research interests. I
