Marvin LeBlanc is a Cajun insurance agent from Louisiana who qualified for State Farm's Chairman's Circle in 2007 and 2008. After Hurricane Katrina devastated his hometown in 2005, he refocused his efforts and embraced doing tandem appointments with his team to better serve clients and teach his team members. Tandem appointments improved communication, generated more items for clients, and allowed his team to learn from his leadership example. Qualifying for Chairman's Circle and other honors was a team effort after Katrina gave him motivation to make a difference again.

18. I embraced TANDEM APPOINTMENTS!!
Why do we do them?
1. I knew we needed to sell more products on each appointment to
EXISTING CLIENTS (VERTICAL SELLING)
2. I knew that my newly formed team had ¡°self-confidence, knowledge &
selling gaps¡± and they needed to hear & learn from their leader.
3. I hate paperwork (My Kolbe proves it). My Team Members love Bonus
Money. They prep for the appointment. All I do is sign. If I have to do
more, they don?t earn Bonus. They don?t want me touching paper.
4. Allows me to use my Strengths & the Strengths of my Team Members.
5. Commissioned Teacher/Counselor (whiteboard & expo marker & I?m
happy)

different & so much better!
? It?s not ¡°selly¡±, it?s ¡°consultative¡±.
? ¡°It?s not combative or conflictive, it?s
¡°collaborative¡±.
? Non Tandem Appointments generate 1-3
items on Things to Do List.
? Tandem Appointments generate 8-9 items
on Things to Do List.
? ¡°We want it all & we earn it all¡±
21. Tandems - Huge Benefit #2
? If you believe the speed of the leader is the
speed of the pack ¨C the tandem appointment
allows your team to see you lead.
? Remember - your Team Members, like your
kids, watch everything you say & do or
DON¡¯T DO!
