MOST PROUD OF organizing a boycott that resulted in the Los Angeles Unified School District bringing back the traditional school calendar in South Gate. My research interests include parents, student鈥檚 rights in urban schooling that is a barrier for equity. I am a parent researcher associate with UCLA's Institute for Democracy, Education, and Center X Parent Project at. University of California. My research involves the Parent Project and five-year longitudinal study that looked at creating parents as advocate and into leadership roles that help parents to navigate their children beyond high school into universities.
