I am currently working on my PhD, and my research straddles Computational Linguistics and Information Retrieval. I am specifically working on context-based citation recommendation: that is, I am researching software that suggests relevant citations to back up claims in a draft scientific paper as you type. I aim to increase the relevance of these citations to streamline the discovery of relevant scientific literature.
I have training in linguistics, software engineering and language teaching and I have some start-up experience, as co-founder and CEO of Scholarly (www.scholarlyessay.com) and of Beacon (www.wearbeacon.com).
