I'm from the dusty plains of the great American steppe--a small rural community called Sickles in the state of Oklahoma. I moved to the city of Lawrence, Kansas at the age of 14, living there for 8 years before moving to Jakarta, Indonesia after graduating from university. I live with my beautiful Indonesian wife Mudhita Ningtyas Lanier, and together we have one daughter, Kirana Madeline Lanier. I work as an English teacher.
