This document outlines a research proposal that aims to understand the expectations and working realities of English teachers in the National Program of English Education in Elementary School (NPEES) in Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico. The main objective is to conduct a case study of NPEES teachers in Chetumal through interviews with 10 English teachers who studied at the University of Quintana Roo. The background provided notes that while English education has expanded in Mexican public schools through programs like NPEES, teachers still face challenges with their working conditions and implementing the program's syllabus. Information will be gathered from articles, books, teaching experts, and interviews.

2. Abstract
Nowadays, English is part of children, teenagers and
adults daily life, who learn the language in the scholar
activity. Mexico is implementing a massive educational
reform to add English teaching to the elementary
school curriculum nationwide. That is how the National
Program of English Education in Elementary School
became a reality. The main concern of this paper is to
know which are the expectations and working realities
of those English teachers who are part of the NPEES
program in Cehumal Q. Roo.
3. Objectives
The
main objective of this thesis is to
know the expectations and working
realities of the NPEES teachers in
Chetumal through a study case.
Analyze different situations are happening
in our social context related to the NPEES
teachers .
4. Background
The process teaching-learning could not be possible
without those people who have prepared for doing the
best in front of the class, the teachers. Years ago, the
majority of English teacher worked for private schools
because of public schools did not have the opportunity to
teach a second language. Nowadays, the Mexican
education system counts with the National Program of
English in Elementary School whose main objective is
“English for everyone”. However, the are several
problems inside the program, from all the working
teacher situations to the syllabus.
5. Methodology
It is a topic which has not been explored a
lot, however I will find information from
articles, books, experts on teaching,
teachers from the University of Q. Roo,
online magazines such as Pueblos y
Fronteras. Moreover, I will apply deep
interviews to ten english techers who
studied at Uqroo and are working in the
NPEES. It will be a narrative-study case.
