We were so poor we lived in a shoe box at the side of the road. Every morning mother would wake us at 5 and make us scrub the shoe box till it gleamed like a new pin. Then she would beat us all for being hungry and breathing too loudly. We thought this was luxury!! Then we were packed off down the pit to dig for coal before school, beaten again for being dirty and sent off to walk 50 miles to school. We were beaten when we got there for being covered in coal and for always being 2 days late.Oh the good old days
I didn't get any qualifications because I didn't get there on time to take exams so I ran away to the theatre. I didn't suceed there as I had no talent and my voice had been damaged
