The Dunraven was an 80m cargo ship built in Newcastle in 1873 that sank in 1876 off the coast of Egypt near Sha'ab Mahmud after striking a reef. It rests at a maximum depth of 30m where the current is usually gentle. The wreck site offers divers the opportunity to see artifacts from the ship as well as a variety of fish and sea life including batfish, scorpionfish, nudibranchs, pipefish, clownfish, goatfish, and jacks.
