To become a high school math teacher one needs to complete 4 years of math, English, science and social studies courses in high school along with foreign language and elective courses. Students will need to achieve a score of 1500 or higher on the SAT or ACT for entrance into a bachelor's program at a university. The top 3 university choices are the University of Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech. The degree requires 4-5 years to complete and will be a bachelor's in math, science, social science or foreign language.
