I'm a grizzled web engineer with a pile of experience going back to the good 'ol days of 1999. I've tried several times to move away from the web, but have realized that this is simply what I am meant to do.

For most of my career, PHP has been my preferred platform. I move quickly and think naturally in PHP. In recent years, I've also come to love JavaScript (Node.js), C#, Java and Ruby. I still prefer dynamic languages over static ones.
Over the years I have come to believe that RESTful APIs and applications are simply the best way to go. I enjoy working with platforms and frameworks that make building REST applications easy...
