I'm excited to join the C&J faculty at UNM. My mission here will be to advance public service journalism through teaching, experimentation in news models and storytelling, research and consulting. This new phase builds upon my management and expansion of public media newsrooms in Seattle and San Diego from 1987 to 2007. Feeding a hunger for innovation, my 2011 Knight Fellowship at Stanford focused on leadership, design-thinking and ways to implement and fund technology-driven solutions in the rapidly changing media environment.
