I mostly teach writing courses, and help people become better in their own ways there. That is my aim. I love it when I see a student leap past a shaky beginning as one to be written off to become one worth reading all the time. We never really know what is inside a student, but sometimes they have a vague idea which blossoms eventually. I always wanted to be a real impact player-type of journalism/mass communications prof and moving toward that every day now, taking numerous years of experience into the classroom.
