The history of Pastoral Care for Children in The Philippines started when the Sisters of the Immaculate Conception of Castres (CIC) introduced the program to Bishop Benjamin Almoneda, bishop of the Diocese of Daet, Camarines Norte. He was interested in doing something for the poor families in the Diocese. The Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines,(CBCP) through the Most Rev. Paciano B. Aniceto, Chairman of the Episcopal Commission on Family and Life, sent a letter to the National Catholic Bishops Conference of Brazil, requesting the approbation to implement the Pastoral Care for Children activities in the country.
