In honor of the lives lost, those injured, and the peoples struggle in my home, the great nation of Turkey, I take a vow of abstinence from all things immoderate and excessive. When my people can raise their glasses in joy of their freedom, can be proud of a government that hears them and respects their voice, when they are no longer terrorized in their own homes and can look outside to see a peaceful and respectful nation, I too will then join my glass with theirs and cheers with them on our victory.
