My career spans several sectors, starting as a Library Assistant in the public library service, then moving on to secondary school, FE college and to university level information provision. I have worked on abstracting, indexing, and database management at Strathclyde University’s RECAL database project. I also have experience of technical marketing consultancy work in the private sector. I am deeply committed to improving services to the library user, especially by using blended learning, effective web site design and appropriate web 2 technologies. My recent appointment as Depute Director has made me realise that I am now ready to take on a post with more responsibility and to implement.
