Monina Hernandez Gesmundo is a graduate of the University of the Philippines Manila College of Nursing in 1992. She was number eight in the graduating batch in UPCN aside from being a consistent honor student since her elementary days in Sta. Isabel College and high school days in Manila Science High School. As an active student leader and volunteer for community health services, Monina was recognized as the MOST OUTSTANDING STUDENT of UP College of Nursing in 1992 and the MOST OUTSTANDING STUDENT OF UP MANILA in 1991. With a Nursing Board exam rating of 86.4, she belonged to the upper echelon of the PNLE passers during her time.
