After university I took my first "real" job...9478 km away in Tokyo. While living and working in Japan for 7 years (early 90s), I became fascinated by the possibility of taking Master's-level correspondence courses from overseas, mainly US, UK, Australian and Canadian institutions, while physically still in Japan. So much so, that for my 1st entrepreneurial project I collected more than 200 course catalogs (via snail mail) to disseminate the infos to fellow expats and to Japanese professionals who now could essentially "study abroad without going abroad" to acquire new skills and further develop a global mindset.
